Service Bulletin for Correction of Gross Weight Metric Conversion to Pounds

Flight Design has issued a Mandatory Service Bulletin, SB-ASTM-CTSW-09, that applies to certain CTsw aircraft with affected manuals that will require owners to replace page(s) in the Airplane Operating Instructions.

It was discovered that by using a slightly different conversion factor than the FAA, the rounding error led to a 3 lb difference in Gross weight shown in the Aircraft Owners Instructions (AOI). This SB corrects this error and gives instructions on the proper manual updates. CTsw Manuals affected are versions 5-8.

Please look at the Flight Design SB web site page for all applicable Service bulletins.

VFR Weather and Warmth with Flight Design CT

After visiting Santa at the Greenville, NC open house where temperatures struggled to make it into the teens, John Hurst from Sebring Aviation thaws out with Premier One Aviation’s Anthony Perea at the Flight Design open house in Puerto Rico the following weekend.  This open house was hosted by Silver Wings Flight Academy at San Juan’s Fernando Luis Ribas Dominicci Airport.  Anthony made the eight hr trip across the Caribbean from Premier One Aviation’s base at Miami’s Tamiami airport in his CTLS.  Details of the trip can be found at Premier One Aviation’s web site http://www.premier1aviation.com/

Premier One Aviation (Flight Design Miami) represents Flight Design in Southeast Florida, and the Caribbean.  Sebring Aviation (Flight Design Southeast) is the Southeast US distributor.

Those Miami folks know how to live!

While most of the rest of the US is digging out of snow and below 0 (F), Premier One went to an open house in Puerto Rico.  Here was the route taken by the CTLS for the event.

No wonder lots of Aviation happens in Florida with places like this to go .  I bet they would give you lessons on how to do this yourself.

Here was the Spot GPS data and a more complete route.

Sorry Rudolph, Santa prefers the CT!

Santa visited the open house in Greenville, SC at Mint Air, Flight Design dealer for the Carolinas, and the local Flight Design service center, Doug Duncan Aviation.

Soon after the local children show up to tell Santa how good they have been, and what gifts they would like for Christmas. Interested adults arrived as well to check out the newest CTLS from Flight Design. The ariplane is sporting Amsafe airbag seatbelts, and the new Synthetic-vision equipped Dynon Skyview system with integrated autopilot.

Greenville’s Downtown airport restaurant, the Runway Cafe provided food and drink along with  Sebring Aviation is the Distributor for the area and provided it’s latest demonstrator aircraft for the event.
A great day was had by all.

Skyview – Get the next Step today

The 10″ Dynon SkyView SVS (Synthetic Vision System) upgrade package shipping in new Flight CTLS aircraft offers a major advance in electronic flight displays for the VFR pilot, showing terrain, real time traffic and even runways at a surprisingly affordable price. “The SkyView package on new CTLS’ is something that offers a lot more than even the great Dynon EFIS systems found on most of our aircraft, says Flight Design President Tom Peghiny”. “The big 10” screens are easy to read, easy to use and the standard virtual terrain modeling gives you unprecedented situational awareness at nighttime or under marginal VFR conditions”.

The addition of the new Dynon autopilot adds to the functionality. This smooth autopilot is integrated into the SkyView panel. Adding the Dynon Transponder gives the SkyView TIS traffic and a nicely integrated display. We just flew one and the ease of use along with the smooth operation makes this a solid choice for the CTLS.

The SkyView has been shipping on new Flight Design aircraft for the past year as pCTLS SkyViewart of the advanced instrument panel package. New software upgrades by Dynon have now increased the features and improved the functionality of the SVS system.  The new two-tone interior of the latest Flight Design aircraft along with the excellent visibility of the CTLS, make this a cockpit you will want to share.

The integration of real time traffic, synthetic vision technology and XM weather increase safety and decrease pilot workload.  This is truly the use of advanced technology making things easier and not harder!

Stop by your nearest Flight Design dealer to see one or put one on order today! Slots are available for Spring Deliveries.

The enhanced handling of the CTLS for cross country flying and the ease of use of the Dynon SkyView SVS system, make this a great avionics combination for FBOs that want rental revenue from cross country use or the discerning individual who simply wants the best.
