SOUTH WOODSTOCK, CONN. / January 6, 2012 – Flight Design has appointed US Aviation of Denton, Texas to provide Factory Authorized service for the popular CT series of Light Sport aircraft. The Texas company has been a Rotax Service Center for several years and has more than 20 A&P mechanics on staff. Combined with its FAA 145 Repair Station, US Aviation is a major flight school with extensive contracts to train foreign flight students.

Flight Design’s CTLE “Sheriff One” Enters Duty
SOUTH WOODSTOCK, CONN. / December 14, 2011 – Much smaller than “Air Force One” but effective for its intended use, “Sheriff One” was recently shown to the public. “Sheriff One” is the call sign used by the new Flight Design CTLE operated by the Tulare County California Sheriff’s Department.
The new model will be shown at the Sebring U.S. Sport Aviation Expo 2012; interested law enforcement officials can contact special mission representative Roger Crow of Echo Flight Resources, LLC (Roger@echoflightresources.com) to arrange a stop to/from Texas to the Florida event.

Sonoma Jet Center Joins the Flight Design Team

 

SOUTH WOODSTOCK, CONN. / November 16, 2011 — Continuing the Flight Design USA pattern of adding locations to better serve customers, west coast distributor Flight Design West recently engaged Sonoma Jet Center of Sonoma, California as a new Flight Design dealer. Because Flight Design USA sells and services the largest fleet of Light-Sport Aircraft in the United States and in preparation for the new four-seat C4, high quality organization such as Sonoma Jet Center, with vast experience and the highest levels of customer service, are valued additions to the Flight Design network.

Sonoma Jet Center will work through distributor Flight Design West in Las Vegas, Nevada, which has responsibility for the overall western region. Recently, on November 10th, Sonoma Jet Center hosted the Porsche Aircraft Experience, a high-end touring show of aircraft and automobiles.

Leinfelden-Echterdingen, GERMANY / 8 September 2011 – On August 24th, 2011, David Williams, Sergeant (Captain, Retired), of the Tulare County Sheriff’s Department traveled to Flight USA headquarters in Woodstock, Connecticut to pick up the department’s new CTLE. He and Lt. Marsh Carter accepted the keys (photo) and flew the CTLE back to California.

“The Tulare County Sheriff’s Department will be the first agency in the U.S. to put a Light-Sport Aircraft into full time service in support of Patrol, just as many agencies do with a helicopter,” observed Williams. “Flight Design was selected not only for its commitment to provide a low-cost, turn-key law enforcement aviation platform, but also based on overall safety in design, from benign stall characteristics to the ballistic parachute system. Safety for our officers and our residents is always our number one priority.”
